About the Singer

     Praised for her pure sound and effortless coloratura, soprano Karly Ritland has firmly established herself as a promising young talent. She has performed regionally and internationally with organizations such as the Peabody Opera Theater, the Fargo Moorhead Opera Company, the North Dakota State University Opera, the Franco American Vocal Academy, and the Austrian American Mozart Academy. Her role credits include Miss Jessel (The Turn of the Screw), Die Königin der Nacht (Die Zauberflöte), La Princesse (L'Enfant et les Sortilèges), Madame Herz (The Impresario), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), Mabel (Pirates of Penzance), and The Soprano in Isabelle Aboulker's Les Fables Enchantée. In the fall of 2019, Karly had the privilege of singing the role of Jane Bennet in the world premier of Kirk Mecham's Pride and Prejudice.

Karly has much experience in the musical theatre genre, as well. She has performed the roles of Belle in Beauty and the Beast, Leading Player in Pippin, Louisa in The Fantasticks, Eve/Mama Noah in Children of Eden, and Gertrude McFuzz in Seussical the Musical. 

As the 2014-2018 Bill Euren Full Tuition Fellowship recipient, Karly earned a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from North Dakota State University. She graduated with a Master of Music in Vocal Performance from The Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University in May 2021, studying under famed soprano Elizabeth Futral.
